Meet Laurel, WENY's SPCA Pet of the Week!
ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Meet Laurel, WENY's Pet of the Week from the Chemung County Humane Society and SPCA!
Laurel is a 2-month-old, female, domestic medium hair/mix kitten. She is a kitten who is ready to learn, and play. Laurel can make a toy out of anything, especially hoodie strings. As she is a kitten, she has room to grow, cats, dogs and children can all be good with her.
As kitten season approaches, the SPCA is trying to give some of its cats homes so it can fill up more of its space with kittens. The organization currently has a wait-list for kittens to come in its doors.
This is the last week you can buy tickets for the SPCA's "Celebrity Chef" fundraiser. During the "Celebrity Chef" fundraiser, food and drinks will be provided, and guests can have the opportunity to participate in raffles and an auction. The SPCA's "Celebrity Chefs" include Joe Golden, Roger Laughlin, Sierra Luongo, Lisa O'Connor, Patrick Roth and Taryn Smith. Proceeds from the event directly benefit the Chemung County SPCA. If you would like to buy tickets here.
On May 11, the SPCA is hosting a "Yappy Hour" at Iron Flamingo Brewery. $1 of every beer purchased directly benefits the Chemung County SPCA. The event is happening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
