ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Elmira Police are investigating a hit and run crash that happened on Tuesday, May 9th near Lake Street and East Center Street. According to police a vehicle struck a motorcycle and then fled the scene. 

Police say the vehicle was located a short distance away. The driver of the motorcycle was transported to Arnot Ogden Medical Center for treatment.  

No word yet on the status of the motorcycle driver, what time the crash occurred or if police are still searching for the driver of the vehicle that struck the motorcycle. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
