Fire starts in the back of a resident building in Corning

CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- A fire burned the back of a resident building, sometime around 4:45 p.m., on Saturday. The fire happened on John Street in Corning, and according to a resident who lives there, only three people were inside at the time.
Everyone who was inside got out safely. The fire did minor damage to the back of the house, according to a fire official.
The City of Corning Fire Department and the Corning Joint Fire District were on the scene.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and WENY News will update this story as more information becomes available.
