It's been a dry stretch of weather across parts of Canada and the Northern Tier of the United States. As high pressure system took control, conditions were not very favorable for widespread rainfall. This caused well below average rainfall for the Twin Tiers region during the month of May.

The persistent dry weather also helped fuel raging and devastating fires across Canada. Western parts of Canada, like Alberta, were the first to be hit with wildfires about a month ago. Then, wildfires rapidly spread across Nova Scotia the past week. Now, Quebec is also dealing with a series of fires.

Fires from all three Providences have impacted sky conditions across the Twin Tiers. The next plume of smoke will spread across our area on Monday causing hazy skies.
