CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- Corning Police Officers were sent to a north side residence in the City of Corning for a report of a male subject, who had been stabbed, yesterday. 

Corning Police said 29-year-old Adam Clark, of Hornell, has been charged with Assault in the First Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree.  

During the incident, Corning Police said a 9-1-1 caller was able to provide the suspect's name and description. After the phone call wrapped up, police officers located Clark and confronted him. Then, Corning Police said Clark fled the scene on foot. Clark was eventually caught near the intersection of Bridge and Ontario Streets. 

During the investigation, Corning Police said it was learned that Clark had allegedly stabbed the 33-year-old male victim in the chest, after a verbal disagreement. 

The victim was treated for his non-life-threatening injuries. 

Clark was sent to the Steuben County Jail to be arraigned in Steuben County's CAP Court.
