MONTOUR FALLS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Hop Notch Brewing Co. celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Wednesday evening. Jeff Klossner, the owner of the microbrewery, said this is an exciting, new chapter for the community in Montour Falls. 

Klossner talked about how he wanted to open a business that centered around inclusivity.  Making everyone feel comfortable was at the forefront of his mind when it came to his soft opening, back in September of 2022.  

Now, he can finally celebrate with a grand opening because mandatory licensing has been approved to sell alcohol at his microbrewery. 

There are 15 taps to enjoy, along with other fun activities and outdoor seating. Klossner said even though his business is off the beaten path, it shows off the true beauty of Montour Falls. 

Klossner said his staff is extremely personable to create the perfect atmosphere for getting to know new people.  

“Whatever you want...we'll have it,” he said. “We look at ourselves more as...we're here to chaperone...you're here to walk around and have a good time.”  

There is going to be another celebration at Hop Notch Brewing Co. on Saturday. Klossner said people can enjoy a bonfire, good company, games and more.
