Connor Freidhoff
Connor comes to the Twin Tiers from the Laurel Highlands region of Pennsylvania. In his early years, he was captivated by many major weather events in the mid-2000s, helping to spark his interest in meteorology. He became heavily involved in many STEM-based clubs throughout high school, including Robotics and Scholastic Quiz. During this time Connor also gave back to his community by volunteering to support underprivileged youth in the Johnstown Area.
In 2019, Connor enrolled at Penn State University to pursue an education in Meteorology, later earning a Bachelor of Science in May 2023. In Happy Valley, Connor continued to foster his interest in Atmospheric Science, participating in multiple clubs including Campus Weather Service, College of Earth and Mineral Sciences Student Council, and the Penn State Branch of the American Meteorological Society. Connor also earned an internship with the National Weather Service office in Pittsburgh and participated in the 2023 American Meteorological Society conference in Denver, Colorado.
Outside of the world of weather forecasting, Connor enjoys outdoor recreation, especially biking and hiking. You might find Connor playing a round of golf in one of the many local courses, or see him participating in recreational volleyball. Come wintertime it'll be time to hit the slopes as he is also an avid skier.
