Rep. Langworthy visits Bath Veterans Hospital
BATH, N.Y. (WENY) -- Congressman Nick Langworthy (R) N.Y-23rd District, visited a Baths Veterans Hospital on Wednesday, July 5th, talking with vets about their experiences not only in active duty, but once they come home. Langworthy's visit was designed, in part, to determine if more programs and services are needed in the Southern Tier.
"Well, I thought it was very important that I come out and tour our facilities here, at the V.A. in Bath," said Rep. Langworthy. "They do a tremendous job for our veterans. I mean, coming off the 4th of July, I mean, we celebrate our great country but it's important that every day that we celebrate those that wore the uniform to defend that freedom that we all enjoy so very much in this country."
Langworthy toured the hospital, spoke with veterans, checking out the extensive care that is available The Congressman told WENY News that visiting the centers like the one in Bath helps him gauge the best way he can get better funding for the Veterans Administration.
Langworthy added he believes Congress will propose adding $10 billion for Veterans Affairs. Langworthy added he is pushing to increase funding for the upcoming fiscal year.
