Arnot Health Foundation unveils serenity space
ELMIRA, NY (WENY) -- The Arnot Health Foundation unveiled the renovations for the Falck Cancer Center Serenity Space this afternoon. The space is a peaceful area for patients to relax while at the treatment center.
“I think that we hope that people will find solace, and peace of mind and comfort, when they come for treatment either personally or with their family members or with others and this will remind them that they are not alone, and that they are supported in their own journey,” said Jonathan Lawrence, president and CEO of Arnot Health.
The area includes a water feature, a brick walkway, bird feeders, and a variety of plants and trees. Chemung County Sunrise Rotary sponsored the "Rising" Phoenix statue which represents rebirth and rising from the ashes. The statue was hand crafted by Barbie the Welder,
The serenity space is now open for patients and visitors to enjoy, and was made possible by donor support.
