CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- Cruisin’ Community Night took place on Bridge Street in Corning’s Gaffer District. Hundreds of people brought their children out to the event.

Corning's Gaffer District Incorporated brought out all the stops with a bounce house, vendors, live music, and lots of activities for families to enjoy. Children also had the opportunity to participate in the Power Wheels Racing Challenge to keep up with the "Cruisin' Community Night" theme.

Coleen Fabrizi, the Executive Director, said events like this show people that the Gaffer District is not strictly Market Street.

“We are so much more than just one street and the Bridge Street area is such an important part of our downtown,” she said. “We love to have people here, so they discover all the great businesses we have here on the north side.”

Fabrizi said families can look forward to the next community event at the end of August, called "Bikes on Bridge."
