Active weather will continue this afternoon as showers and thunderstorms approach the Twin Tiers. At times, some storms could be strong to severe and contain gusty winds, heavy rain, small hail and even isolated tornadoes. A tornado watch is currently in effect until 9 PM Monday night for Potter and Tioga, County of Pennsylvania. This means the ingredients are available for a tornado to form. As the afternoon progresses expect more watches and warnings to be placed. The First Warning Weather Team will continue to monitor the situation this afternoon and evening. Keeping you updated on-air and online. The severe threat should diminish by tonight and scattered showers as well as thunderstorms will be possible. Lingering showers will stick around Tuesday as this low pressure system finally pushes to the Northeast. Temperatures will be on the cooler side in the low to mid-70s. Mostly sunny skies going into Wednesday with highs back in the mid-80s. The rest of the forecast period will remain in the 80s. There will remain a chance for showers Thursday followed by drier weather Friday. This upcoming weekend however, we could see the possibility of scattered showers returning.
