A flood watch will remain in effect for Chemung, Tioga(NY), Bradford and Tioga(PA) counties until Wednesday morning due to the potential for flash flooding. A cold front will swing through very early Wednesday morning with heavy showers and thunderstorms that should taper off as the morning goes on. Some localized flash flooding as well as areas of patchy fog could impact the morning commute. A few showers cannot be ruled out during the day, otherwise expect partly sunny skies. Temperatures will be cooler than yesterday in the mid-70s. Most showers should taper off by Wednesday night leaving behind partly cloudy skies and lows in the lower-50s. Patchy fog will develop after midnight, once again that could impact the Thursday. High pressure begins to rebuild on Thursday and plenty of sunshine is expected. Despite the sunshine, temperatures will struggle to get out of the low to mid-70s. A warming trend will begin on Friday as high pressure is still in place. Highs will be in the upper-70s and climb into the 80s over the holiday weekend. Lots of sunshine and drier weather persists through the weekend and into Labor Day. Highs will even topple over the 90-degree mark into early next week. Do not forget the water and sunscreen over the holiday weekend!
