** HEAT ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT FROM NOON THROUGH 7 P.M. MONDAY FOR YATES, SCHUYLER, CHEMUNG, TOMPKINS AND TIOGA(NY) **

 Hot and humid weather will continue Monday with plenty of sunshine expected. Heat index values could rise into the mid-90s, which has caused heat advisories to be put in place for the Southern Tier of NY. Highs will be in the lower-90s and this trend is expected to continue into Wednesday. We are likely to see heat advisories for Tuesday and Wednesday as the weather is expected to get hotter. Remember to keep hydrated and limit time outside to avoid heat illness. The UV index is expected to be high in the coming days as well, so it will be best to wear sunscreen to avoid getting burned.The heat dome is expected to be pushed out of here by the late week. Temperatures will be slightly cooler in the upper-80s Thursday with a chance for showers and thunderstorms. The chance for rain will continue Friday with highs in the mid to low-80s. The cooler weather is looking to continue into the upcoming weekend with highs in the upper-70s Saturday followed by the mid-70s Sunday. Showers and a few thunderstorms cannot be ruled out either day.
