CORNING, NY (WENY) -- The city of Corning will be flushing city fire hydrants throughout the week of September 25th through the 29th.

The flushing will be done by the city 's water department between 7:00AM and 3:30PM. During that time, customers may see discolored water, and/or low water pressure. The discoloration does not propose any health issues, but could cause issues if a someone is doing laundry at that time.

If you are experiencing discolored water, the city says to run the cold water tap until the water becomes clear. This helps to reduce the potential of discolored water entering your hot water tank.
