BROOKFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA (WENY) -- The search for a missing elderly woman from Tioga County, Pennsylvania appears to be over.
On Sunday, Pennsylvania State Police confirmed the Subaru belonging to 85-year-old Phyllis Potter of Westfield was found near a cornfield off of North Fork Road in Brookfield Township. Human remains were found not far away from the car. Police would not confirm that the remains are that of Potter, saying an autopsy has been scheduled. According to organizers involved in the search efforts, Potter's vehicle was found Saturday, but she was not found inside. Efforts were suspended due to the dark conditions, and resumed Sunday morning.
