ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Elmira College Theatre is putting on its performance of 'Love/Sick', a collection of nine short plays that explore the pain and joy of love.

"They're all separate characters in these diverse relationships and it's kind of showing... the stages that a relationship may go through and it really showcases the complex nature of those relationships," said Mia Pavon, a sophomore at Elmira College.

While the performance features the stories of nine completely different couples, common threads are present throughout the piece, written by John Cariani.

"They all kind of intertwine with each other in a way," said Adison Grusendorf, a freshman at Elmira College. "It's full of dreamers and unromantic lovers, and people just navigating their way through a relationship."

Students at Elmira College will be playing various characters throughout the performance.

"It's such a unique play that I've never been in anything like this before," said Grusendorf.

The play features adult themes and content, officials recommend only mature audiences attend.

"It's so vulnerable compared to anything I've been a part of previously," Pavon said.

Performances are taking place in Elmira College's Watson Arena on Friday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 11 at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. It is completely free. Spaces are limited, you can reserve your seat here.
