CORNING, NY (WENY) -- Part of the Marconi Lodge in Corning will be turned into a music venue. The only thing that's changing about the Marconi Lodge is the large room where people can sit down to eat.

"The [idea for More To Life] would be to have something for the community [and] pretty much for all ages. We teamed up [with] Sonic Productions which consists of Charles France, Joe Noto, and Tim Heck. [We chose the Marconi Lodge because] it's a nice, big venue, and seems like a pretty good centralized location...for most [people] in Steuben and Chemung County," said Co-owner of More To Life, Jon Shock.

Co-owner Gracyn Buckley said they started More To Life because she and Shock wanted to be able to allow musicians and artists a space to share their stories through music. She said More To Life's name has a special meaning behind it.

"We knew there were lots of people in the area struggling with suicide and mental illnesses. We knew there was "more to life" so, we also want to give other people the opportunity to experience that," said Buckley.

Looking ahead, More To Life hopes to expand the business by doing a little more with artists and musicians.

"In the future, we’re talking about doing some podcasts and interviews, things like that, [with] musicians, artists, [and] people like that in the community. [We want to do} anything we can get together that’s going to be inspirational for other people," said Shock.

The first event More To Life is hosting will be the Nu Metal Karaoke on February 24th. The doors at the Marconi Lodge will open at six. Tickets are $10 each plus taxes and fees. The event is for all ages, however anyone 17 years or younger must be accompanied by an adult.
