HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Mini golf to support the Chemung County Compeer Program at the Arnot Mall is back.

For $5, participants can play 18 holes, which are scattered across the mall.   Some of the holes are sponsored by local businesses, and some are themed after local landmarks.  All the proceeds made go towards the Chemung County Compeer Program, which is a part of Family Services.

"The Compeer Program is a mentoring program that helps both adults and kids in the area. There's three different programs. There is an adult one-on-one, there's a pal one-on-one, which is more for like teenagers, and then there's a Circle of Friends program which is done in the elementary schools of the Elmira City School District," said Lisa Jensen, the Administrative Operations Manager for Chemung County Family Services.

Mini golf just opened on February 14th, but Jensen said the turnout has already been high.

"Community response has been amazing to mini golf. There's been a lot of people here already on day one, and some excited to come back every day we're having it," said Jensen.

Mini golf is open until February 25th at the Arnot Mall.  The course will be open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Chemung County Compeer is always looking for volunteers, and are in need of volunteers right now.  There's an application available on their website, found here.
