CORNING, N.Y. (WENY) -- The Gaffer District's Cabin Fever is returning this Friday, and businesses throughout the city are partnering up with local breweries and wineries to offer tastings, discounts, and a fun shopping experience in the wintertime.

Over 20 businesses on Market Street are partnering up with local wineries, breweries, and distilleries for Cabin Fever. It's an experience sure to help whisk away the winter blues. With a February that's felt much warmer than normal, the Gaffer District is expecting another great crowd this year.

Cabin Fever provides Corning retailers with the opportunity to market their products and services during a time of year where customers often have to brave the winter weather on their shopping trips.

The event also serves as a celebration and a show of appreciation to members of the public that regularly support the network of small businesses. Shuttle buses will also be provided to transport patrons between Market Street and Corning's Northside.

"What it means is at this time of year where people aren't really out and about very much, It's a great way for people to come and learn about our businesses, maybe a place you've never checked out before and if they're hosting you can say 'hey, I didn't know this was here,'" said Coleen Fabrizi, the executive director of Corning's Gaffer District.

Check-in begins at 4:00 p.m. and patrons can go to either the Radisson Hotel, the Wineglass Office or Carey's Brewhouse to sign-in. Tastings begin at 5:00 p.m. and run until 9:00 p.m.

Information on purchasing tickets can be found on the Gaffer District's website and their social media accounts.
