HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Meet Crowley, WENY's Pet of the Week from the Horseheads Community Animal Shelter!

Crowley is an 8-year-old, male, Pitbull mix. He has a laid-back personality, and loves to cuddle. The shelter says Crowley does well with children, cats and dogs, as long as they are not too energetic.

"He's quite affectionate with people," said Mojave Moffett from the Horseheads Community Animal Shelter.

Crowley does suffer from a skin condition due to allergies, but it does not pose any potential harms to him. The Horseheads Community Animal Shelter says he would do best with a family who can take him on short walks, as he cannot get too far without getting out of breath. Crowley also mostly eats canned dog food, as it is easier on his teeth, which have weakened with age.

During March, the shelter is participating in the click-to-donate "Voice" program through YummyPets. Horseheads Community Animal Shelter has the chance to receive up to 165 pounds of cat and dog food through the organization. All community members have to do click this link once daily through the month and follow the instructions to "donate".

"You donate just by clicking, and then if we reach the goal, then we will get sent quite a few pounds of pet food," Moffett said.

If you are interested in sending physical donations personally to the shelter, they say they are in a need for canned dog food, to take care of Crowley and other senior dogs.

If you or someone you know is interested in adopting Crowley, fill out an application on the Horseheads Community Animal Shelter website to be considered.
