ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- We are less than one month away from the upcoming total eclipse and the hype has been building across the region.

Multiple locations are set to host eclipse watch parties and educational events, and the Chemung County Chamber of Commerce is getting on board.

Local businesses and organizations are gearing up and getting ready for the eclipse day by creating community events and educational opportunities. The Chemung County Chamber of Commerce has created a centralized page with local, partnered events to help people find it all in one spot.

"We're just simply trying to compile all of the eclipse themed events that are happening within Chemung County and put them together in a single website so people can go to it, find places to view the eclipse, and find different ways to experience the eclipse," said Cynthia Raj, the Vice President of Tourism Promotion for Chemung COC.

The Chamber has also set up a store page for eclipse-related merchandise. The shirts and hoodies are part of a collaboration with local custom apparel maker Rainbow Lettering.

"They are producing both t-shirts and hoodies and they can be picked up at the chamber, they're going to print them all at one time and then deliver them here for easy pick-up," remarked Raj.

This year's eclipse ends a 99-year gap between the last total eclipse to cross New York in 1925, and it will be the last one until 2079. Chemung County will sit at 99 percent totality as the eclipse happens on April 8th.

The deadline to purchase any of the offered apparel is March 20th at 9:00 A.M.

Events can be found on the Discover Chemung Eclipse website.
