Spring officially begins tonight at 11:06 and it turns out this is the earliest start to spring since 1896!  The earlier start has to do with this being a leap year.  Moving forward, every subsequent leap year will have an earlier start to spring until the year 2103!  In non leap years, we can expect the first day of spring to fall on the traditional March 20th.
