ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) -- An Ithaca man is facing a slew of charges after police said he crashed his car into a home after trying to outrun officers who tried to pull him over.

According to IPD, an officer said they saw a car speeding near West State and North Plain Streets around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday evening. The officer tried to stop the car, but the pursuit was ended.

Later, officers located the car after it crashed into a home on the 400 block of Cascadilla Street. The driver took off running, and police said they caught him a short time later.

Firefighters said the home suffered minor fire damage, but the foundation was severely damaged. Officials said no one was injured inside of the home.

The driver was identified as 38-year-old Ismanuel Dilan. He was charged with unlawful fleeing of a police officer, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle -- among a slew of other charges.

Officers said before the crash, Dilan was fleeing a domestic incident where he allegedly assaulted and restrained someone in Ithaca. The victim in that matter was treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

For that incident, Dilan is facing two counts of assault, and one count of unlawful imprisonment.

Police say further charges are pending.
