HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- Finger Lakes Sign & Design is displaying unwavering support for Investigator Michael Theetge and his family. Ever since news of the hit-and-run incident in Big Flats broke on Friday evening, the entire community has been coming together.

Josh Fuksman, the owner of Finger Lakes Sign & Design, has been working with his friends from the Chemung County Deputy Sheriff’s Association since Saturday morning on a T-shirt fundraiser.

To raise money to help ease the burden on Theetge’s family, the shop is selling T-shirts, long sleeve shirts, and sweatshirts, collecting $10 donations from every order.

Fuksman said hundreds of orders have already been placed since Saturday.

“It’s really just a thank you,” he said. “It’s all about them. It’s not about us. They’re the ones ultimately sacrificing their lives for us.”

Fuksman said, when get received the call to make shirts in support of Investigator Theetge, his team kicked into gear and worked from morning until night on Saturday to create designs that the community would proudly wear to show their support.

The store’s deadline to take orders is Sunday April 14th.
