DUNDEE, NY (WENY) -- Fire crews from Yates and Schuyler counties responded to a fire at a property in Dundee late Monday night.

According to the Yates County Sheriff's Office, Yates County 911 received a call just before 10:30PM for a report of an explosion and a fire near State Route 230.

When deputies arrived, they found a barn fully engulfed in flames, which had also spread to a second barn nearby. Fire departments from Penn Yan, Himrod, Benton, Wayne, Tyrone, Watkins Glen and Hammondsport all responded to the scene and worked to put out the fire. Crews with Dundee Fire and Ambulance, Yates Office of Emergency Management and New York State Police also responded to the scene. 

The Yates County Sheriff's Office say both buildings were vacant at the time the fire broke out. The cause is still under investigation.
