SCHUYLER COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) -- On Thursday, April 18th, the Schuyler County Veterans Service Agency Director was dismissed from her position.  On Tuesday, the Schuyler County Legislature issued a statement in response to community concerns in the wake of this decision.

The statement says no positions or services have been eliminated, and none will be.  It says a new director will be hired, and additional support will be given to the agency in the meantime.  All planned veteran events will continue.

As for funds, including the Dwyer funds, the statement says all funds undergo the county's annual independent audit.  That can be found on the Schuyler County website.  The statement goes on to say that all department heads, including the Veterans Service Agency Director, received the same 'cost of living' raise in January.

WENY reached out to Chairman of the Legislature Carl Blowers and former Veterans Service Agency Director Kristine Gardner, but both declined to comment.

The full statement can be found below.
