UPDATE: 4/26/24 3:30 p.m.: According to Chemung County Sheriff Bill Schrom, the motorcyclist was airlifted after a crash Wednesday on NY-414.

Schrom says a car leaving the Beaver Dams Dandy Mini-Mart, pulled out in front of the driver of the motorcycle which he hit from behind. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital via helicopter with non-life threatening injuries. The people inside the car were not hurt.

Speed probably played a factor in this crash, Schrom said, but investigators have yet to come to a definitive solution.

The Sheriff's Office plans to interview the motorcyclist before they determine if any criminal charges are necessary after the accident.
