HORSEHEADS, N.Y. (WENY) -- A new thrift shop has opened its doors in Horseheads.  Gifted Goods II offers a variety of clothing, shoes, and decorations, and the store aims to donate to a special cause every month.

Gifted Goods II has found its home at 3312 South Main Street.  Owner Treva Lewis says she saw a need for a thrift shop in the area, and decided to make it a reality.

"We realized that there was just a need in the community for new and used affordable goods, and it's a way that we can use that store as a platform to share kindness and autism awareness in the community," said Lewis.

Lewis says she wants the thrift store to make an impact in the community.  She says 10% of the store's profits each month will be donated to the Zanderland Autism Fund.

"I really love coming to work and just feeling like I'm putting out there good vibes for the community and helping others.  So, it's not just about autism, it's about community kindness, compassion and caring for others," said Lewis.

The Zanderland Autism Fund works to provide assistance to families and community programs that support youth with autism in Steuben and Chemung counties.

Gifted Goods II is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
