UPDATE 5:45 PM: A WENY reporter on the scene confirmed the area has reopened. Authorities have not released a statement at this time. 

SCHUYLER COUNTY, N.Y. (WENY) -- Law enforcement from multiple agencies are at a scene in Schuyler County, where they have blocked of a portion of state Route 414 in both directions near Beaver Dams.

According to 511 NY, the road has been closed since 8:30 a.m.  County sheriffs, NYSP and EMS are on scene. WENY News is working to gather more information but are only being told it’s an active investigation.

Traffic is being rerouted in the area.
