ITHACA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Nearly one month after Cornell University Students established a liberated zone to protest the war in Gaza, the Coalition for Mutual Liberation announced they will close Monday, May 13th.

These students are part of a nationwide movement where encampments have been set up to voice opposition.

The student organization has also been actively calling on the university administration to divest from companies that support Israel's military efforts in the region.

Additionally, a vigil will be hosted to honor the lives lost in Rafah. It will take place from 6 to 8 PM Monday, and attendees are encouraged to bring a song, poem, or speech to share with the community.

More details will be provided as the closing of the Liberated Zone approaches, as indicated in the Coalition's recent announcement on Instagram tonight.
