ERIN, N.Y. (WENY) -- On Sunday, June 9th there will be a benefit for Chemung County Investigator Mike Theetge. The event will take place from 12-6 pm at the Erin Town Tavern on Breesport Road.

Guests can expect live music, raffles, an auction, and a chicken barbecue. The benefit is being held for Theetge because on Friday, March 29th., while working a retail theft detail, he was hit by a car that drove off in the Big Flats Target parking lot.

Theetge was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital, where he started his recovery in the trauma-one ICU. Over several weeks, he progressed from the ICU to a regular hospital room.

Authorities confirmed that both suspects were in custody by late Saturday, March 30th. The latest update about Theetge, shared by the Chemung County Sheriff's Office on May 15th, stated that he was being released from inpatient rehab to continue treatment with outpatient rehab.

The Erin Town Tavern is located at 1205 Breesport road, Erin, New York, 14838
