BRADFORD COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA (WENY) -- The three people accused in the murder and dismemberment of a man in Bradford County appeared in court on Friday for preliminary hearings.

Ronda Parker, her estranged husband Terry Parker, and his girlfriend Summer Heil are all accused of having a role in the murder and dismemberment of Michael Pruitt last month. All three appeared in court for the first time in Bradford County Court to determine if there was enough evidence to go to trial.

Twelve people testified in Friday's preliminary hearings, one of them was one of Ronda's children. The witness testified she received screenshots from her mother of a text conversation between Ronda and Terry about how they allegedly killed Pruitt.

During the cross-examination, Ronda's attorney argued Terry had access to Ronda's phone.

Another witness, a corporal with the Pennsylvania State Police in Towanda, testified about what he saw when he arrived on scene on March 11th at Ronda Parker's house on Sawyer Road in Springfield Township, after being notified about suspicious text messages about a possible homicide. He said when he got there, he saw a burn pit, and just behind it were human remains. Pruitt's body was dismembered before it was burned in the burn pit on Ronda's property.

Another witness, who is a state police fire marshall, testified that he saw smoke coming from a specific pile on Ronda's property and smelled an odor consistent with burning flesh. He said when he was combing through the pit, he found bones.

A forensic science expert from Mercyhurst University also testified there were bullet fragments found in the remains of Pruitt's skull. During the hearing, the Bradford Co. District Attorney showed surveillance video of Summer and Terry at a Walmart buying a spade shovel, three pairs of gloves, and an axe. However, the forensic science expert couldn't determine exactly what sharp instrument was used to dismember Pruitt.

At the press conference last month, D.A. Richard Wilson discussed the possibility of the death penalty for the Parkers. WENY News asked where that stands, as of Friday.

"There is no decision at this point by me, whether to seek the death penalty against any of the defendants, is something I will make at a later date. Such as, on or before the date of a formal arraignment," said D.A. Wilson.

A next court date hasn't been set yet for Ronda, Terry, or Summer. All of the charges each co-defendant was facing will carry over into a trial.

"All three defendants will proceed with further court action... I can tell you I'm satisfied that the charges are bound over, and I'm happy with today's results," said D.A. Wilson.

It's alleged that the victim allegedly was masturbating under a blanket when he was in the presence of juveniles. That is currently under investigation.
