    ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) - Police have arrested an Elmira man forr Public Lewdness. According to the Elmira Police Department, 31-year-old Dominic Smallwood was arrested fo Public Lewdness, Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Possession of a controlled substance (heroin) in the 7th degree. The arrest was made after following a disturbance in the 100 block of East Hudson Street.

    ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) - An Elmira man has been arrested after he caused a 5 car accident in the city of Elmira. According the Elmira Police Department, 32-year-old Joshua EJ Batjer was arrested for Felony DWI and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor vehicle in the third degree. Police say Batjer rear ended another vehicle, causing a 5 car accident near the intersection of North Main Street and West Church Street.

There will be a Chicken BBQ, live and silent auctions, games and a corn hole tournament. There will also be a motorcycle run at 8 am, sign ups start at 6. The cost for a rider is $20 and $10 for a passagener. The event is being held at the South Waverly Borough Grounds, located at 2523 Penn. Avenue.

The entire situation was actually just a drill.  The Chemung County Office of Fire and Emergency Management held a full scale training event at the hospital on Wednesday. The training involved the Elmira Police Department, the Chemung County Sheriff, New York State Police and New York State Corrections.
