    MILLPORT, NY (WENY) - The former Village of Millport Treasurer has been arrested for allegedly stealing public funds. According to New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, Dawn Haverley stole more than $4,000 in public funds. She's charged with 3rd degree Grand Larceny. Haverley was arraigned in Veteran Town Justice Court and released under Chemung County's Project for Bail. The former Millport treasurer was appointed to her position in 2006.     A second person has been indicted in connection to the Horseheads Deputy Fire Chief's arrest for allegedly selling heroin in the Town of Horseheads.  The Chemung County District Attorney's Office announced on Wednesday a Grand Jury has indicted 44-year-old Keough Hallock on three counts Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree.

According to the Steuben County Sheriff's Office, 19-year-old Jonathan Dow allegedly was charged with felony promoting obscene sex performance of a child and felony disseminating undecent material to a minor. Dow was arraigned in Steuben County Court. He was sent to the Steuben County Jail on $5,000 cash bail. He will reappear in Erwin Town Court on October 4th.

He was indicted by a Chemung County Grand Jury. The charges stem from a ten-month long investigation into the sale of heroin in the Town of Horseheads by the Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division. "We help them decide what services are available and what we can link them to. But we also track unmet needs."  And on the top of that list was service to Tompkins County.
